Description: Black and White Tobiano Pinto Grade Pony Gelding. AR Traditional "Buster" sculpted and painted by Chris Flint. 1950's - 1960's era Photographer's Pony. Back "in the day", the biggest entertainment were TV Westerns like "Gunsmoke", "The Lone Ranger", "The Cisco Kid" and of course "Roy Rogers". These larger-than'life characters were the heros of many children of that era. In the big cites, there were Photographers who would roam the streets leading a colorful pony wearing a fancy saddle, going door-to-door soliciting parents to have their child's photo taken. They usually carried additional props like chaps, hats and bandannas to dress the kids with as well. These ponies were trained to stand squarely and slightly stretched and to keep perfectly still while the photo was taken. Many families have cherished heirloom photos of relatives as children taken on one of these wonderful ponies! This photo shows "Buster" re-enacting those wonderful days of yesteryear. (Dolls by Joan Yount, tack by Vicky Norris.)
