What are the Top Ten Lists?
The Top Ten Lists are possible in any Gallery, but are really only useful if the Host is holding Contests
in the Gallery.
The Top Ten Lists are all about achievements!
AND bragging rights (you know… SnapBraggin! )
By achievements we mean, the earning of points and awards in your Gallery's Contests !
The TOP TEN INCLUDES TWO LISTS:
TOP TEN MEMBERS: The Top Ten includes a display list of your Gallery's Top Ten most awarded Members
and their seven Highest Point photos.
TOP TEN PHOTOS: The Top Ten also includes a display list of the Top Ten highest point achieving photos
in your Gallery.
Each TOP TEN LIST ALSO INCLUDES TWO POINTS VERSIONS:
Whenever Contest results are Recorded, SnapBraggin tabulates and keeps track of the points earned
by the winning photos that have been judged or rated in the Contest.
Points are tabulated in two ways:
PLACEMENT POINTS: Placement Points are earned per how many photos have been defeated.
AWARDS POINTS: Award Points are based on how many 1st Round Ribbons, Champion Rosettes and
Grand Champion Cups have been earned.
HOW ARE TOP TEN POINTS CALCULATED?
While viewing one of the Top Ten Lists pages, you may click on an Explanation link to read about
how the points were calculated for that specific Points version.
PLACEMENT POINTS EXPLANATION:
Placement Points are earned per how many photos have been defeated.
Here's how it works... A point is given for each entry you beat in competition.
· For First Round (standard) contests, the top ten placements earn points.
· For Champion and Grand Champion contests, the top three placements earn points.
NOTE: Only valid entries are counted. Valid means that the entries COULD be selected by the Judge as Finalists.
Non-valid entries (such as Pending Approval or Rejected photos) are hidden from the judge, so those are not counted.
Entries in the Contest that are Disqualified by the Judge are also not counted (because they cannot be Finalists.)
For example:
Let's say a photo places First Place in a Contest in which there are 15 valid entries.
Well, in that case, the photo beat (was placed higher than) 14 other entries, which means that the photo therefore
earned 14 placement points.
Another example:
Let's say a photo places Third Place in a Contest in which there are 15 valid entries.
Well, in that case, the photo beat (was placed higher than) 12 other entries, which means that the photo therefore
earned 12 placement points.
AWARD POINTS EXPLANATION:
Award points are earned by achieving awards (Ribbons, Rosettes or Cups), based on the following scale:
Grand Champion Award Points
These points are earned by achieving these awards in a Grand Champion Contest.
FIRST PLACE CUP = 48 points
SECOND PLACE CUP = 32 points
THIRD PLACE CUP = 16 points
Champion Award Points
These points are earned by achieving these awards in a Champion Contest.
FIRST PLACE ROSETTE = 12 points
SECOND PLACE ROSETTE = 8 points
THIRD PLACE ROSETTE = 4 points
First Round Award Points
These points are earned by achieving these awards in a Standard Contest.
FIRST PLACE RIBBON = 3 points
SECOND PLACE RIBBON = 2 points
THIRD PLACE RIBBON = 1 point
For example:
An entry will receive 32 points for winning the Second Place Cup award in a Grand Champion contest.
