I am a Gallery Host. How do I set the Qualified Placement Level (when using Qualified Contest Mode)?
This Album management option is only available for Standard Contest Albums.
(This option is not available for Champion or Grand Champion Contest Albums.)
WARNING: This option can only be changed while a Standard Contest Album is either
Closed or Open state.
WARNING: This option can only be set (and is only useful and active) when the Run in Qualified Contest Mode option is set as: YES.
This option allows you to set the placement levels that designate a "qualified" entry.
This option applies to either judgement method: By Single Judge or By Member Ratings.
WHAT IS AN EXAMPLE OF A PLACEMENT LEVEL?
A placement level is: First Place, Second Place, Third Place, Fourth Place, or up to Tenth Place earned by an entry in the Contest.
For example, if you put the number 2 into the box, then only First Place and Second Place winners (entries that earned those placements during previous times that the contest was judged or rated) will be considered "qualified" entries.
When the Contest is run in Qualified Contest Mode, only those entries that are "qualified," that have earned those placements (First Place or Second Place, in this example), will be judged or rated.
HOW TO CHANGE THE QUALIFIED PLACEMENT LEVEL:
New Contest Album Setup:
During initial Setup of a new Standard Contest Album, STEP #4 allows you to indicate the Qualified Placement Level. ( However, it is highly recommend that you do not use Qualified Contest Mode until you have run the Contest several times in Regular Contest Mode.)
Established Contest Album:
To change the Qualified Placement Level in an established Standard Contest Album
(To make this change, the Contest Album must be in either the Open or the Closed State, AND the Contest Album must be set as Run in Qualified Contest Mode: YES ):
1. When on the Album's Home page, select Manage This Album (via the Host Tools button or menu link)
2. Click on the Album Contest Settings button
3. Make your desired changes to the Qualified Placement Level option,
4. Enter the number into the box.
Specify the Placement level that designates a qualified entry.
Examples:
1 = First Place earned,
2 = either First Place or Second Place earned,
3 = First Place or Second Place or Third Place earned,
10 = any First Place through Tenth Place earned.
(The number can be no greater than 10, for Tenth Place.)
5. Then Click Save.
