I am a Gallery Host. How do I edit DQ, Disqualification Comments on the photos in my Contest Album?
This answer is for use only by Gallery Hosts who are holding Contests.
This answer is regarding DQ, Disqualification Comments on photos in Contest Albums (and is not about Member Comments.)
NOTE: If you are a Host looking for information about editing or deleting Member Comments,
Please read: How do I edit or Delete Member Comments?
What are DQ, Disqualification Comments?
DQ Comments are specialized comments that are left by judges (or the Host) on
disqualified entries in Contests via the For Judges path (while entries are being judged by Single Judges.)
When Single Judges (or the Host) disqualify photos during judging, they may leave DQ Comments to explain to the owners why their photos have been disqualified.
HOW TO EDIT DQ COMMENTS IN A CONTEST THAT IS BEING JUDGED:
A Host may edit DQ Comments.
HOWEVER, this is only possible via the For Judges path,
AND only while a Contest is in the Judging state.
1. Click on the For Judges menu link.
2. Use the dropdowns to locate the Gallery and Contest Album.
3. READY FOR JUDGING: If the Contest indicates: Ready For Judging, that means that the Contest is in the Judging state. Click to enter the Contest.
4. COMPLETED: If the Contest indicates: Judging Completed, that means that the Contest can be re-judged. Click to enter the Contest. Then click on the Re-judge this Contest button.
Re-judging a Contest will change the Contest from Completed state back to the Judging state.
5. On the Phase #1 page, find the Photo that has a DQ Flag (that has already been Disqualified.)
6. Click again on the RED DQ Flag button or icon on the photo's thumbnail, scroll view or Detail page.
That will re-open the DQ Comment box.
NOTE: If you accidentally click on the Gray Clear DQ Flag, the DQ Flag and DQ Comment will be cleared away. However, if you click on the RED DQ Flag again, the DQ Flag and DQ Comment will be remembered and reinstated.
7. Edit the DQ Comment as desired.
8. Then click Apply, to save your changes.
9. You may then Complete the judging again. (Or notify your assigned Single Judge to do so.)
WARNING: After you Reset a Contest Album, DQ Comments can no longer be edited!!!
After Reset, DQ Comments can be cleared away, but they cannot be edited.
HOW TO EDIT DQ COMMENTS AFTER A CONTEST HAS BEEN RESET:
If you discover that you need to edit DQ Comments AFTER your Contests have been reset, you may use this alternate method:
Basically, this will replace the Judge Appraisal (Disqualified) with a Host Appraisal (Rejected), and will thus replace the DQ Comment with a Rejection Comment.
1. Enter a Standard Contest Album (that is in Open, Closed, or Judging state), via the Gallery Home page
2. Click on the Clear DQ Appraisal button to clear away the DQ Comment.
This will remove the DQ Flag and the DQ Comment.
3. Then, click on the Reject button to Reject the photo.
4. Type your reason into the box. And click to Save your Rejection comment.
This will Reject the photo.
The photo will be given a Rejected Badge.
And the photo will have a Rejection Comment instead of the DQ Comment.
