NOTE:  Only the Gallery's Host may approve or reject photos that are Pending Approval.

 

This answer describes how to Approve or Reject the PA, Pending Approval photos in your Shared Album or Standard Contest Album.

 

If some photos in your Album have PA, Pending Approval badges, that is because you have selected Manual Approval. 

 

When Manual Approval is active, newly-uploaded photos are given PA, Pending Approval badges. PA BADGE ICON

 

You will need to manually decide about the PA, Pending Approval photos in your Albums.  (You need to manually decide whether to Approve or Reject those photos.)

 

 

Manual Approval allows you to screen newly-uploaded photos for content before they are seen by other members of the Gallery or the public. 

 

 

NOTE: PA, Pending Approval photos will be hidden and may not compete in Contests (they will not be judged or rated.)

 

Hosts!  Please approve PA, Pending Approval photos before starting judging (if you hold Contests!)

You have three ways to deal with PA, Pending Approval photos:

 

Individual Decision per Photo (to Approve or Reject each photo, individually)

Bulk Approval per Album (to Approve several Pending Approval photos at once)

Bulk Approval per Submitter (to Approve several Pending Approval photos at once)

 

 

 

INDIVIDUAL DECISION: TO APPROVE OR REJECT PHOTOS, ONE AT A TIME

 

Use this process to APPROVE OR REJECT each PA, Pending Approval photo, individually.

 

1.  Visit your Gallery's Home page.

 

2.  Look for Album Banners that have PA badges PA BADGE ICON on them.

The PA badges are there to alert you that those Albums contain one or more Pending Approval photos! 

 

3.  Enter an Album that contains photos that are PA, Pending Approval. 

 

4.  Find a photo with a PA Badge PA BADGE ICON  , then click on the photo's thumbnail, scroll view or Hybrid image to access that photo's Detail Page.

 

5. APPROVE THE PHOTO: To Approve a PA photo, click on the Approve button: 

 

The photo will become viewable and will be able to compete in contests (can be judged or rated.)

 

The PA Badge will be removed.

 

The photo will be given Host Appraisal:  Approved.

 

6. REJECT THE PHOTO: To Reject a PA photo, Click on the Reject button

 

Then enter the reason for the Rejection in the Rejection Comment box and click Apply.

 

The Rejection Comment will tell the owner why their photo was not approved by you.

 

The PA Badge will be removed.

 

A Rejected Badge will be given instead.

 

The photo will be given Host Appraisal: Rejected.

 

7. To decide about another PA photo in the same Album:

Use the Album Home button to go back to the thumbnails, Scroll or Hybrid view, then repeat from STEP 4.

 

8.  To decide about PA photos in other Albums, repeat from STEP 2.

 

NOTE:  It is suggested (if you have a lot of PA photos in an Album) that you use the Bulk Decision method (described above) to Approve the majority of the PA photos, before you use the slower, Individual Decision method to Reject the rest of the PA photos in your Album.  

 

 

 

BULK APPROVAL PER ALBUM:  TO APPROVE SEVERAL PHOTOS IN AN ALBUM, AT ONCE

 

Use this tool to find and APPROVE one or multiple photos in an Album.

 

NOTE:  This Bulk Approval tool will only allow you to change photos from PA, Pending Approval to Host Appraisal: Approved.

 

You cannot use this Bulk Approval tool to Reject photos. 

 

1.  Visit your Gallery's Home page.

 

2.  Look for Album Banners that have PA badges PA BADGE ICON on them.

The PA badges are there to alert you that those Albums contain one or more Pending Approval photos! 

 

3.  Enter an Album that contains photos that are PA, Pending Approval. 

 

4.  Select Approve photos (via the Host Tools button or menu link)

 

Thumbnails of all the PA, Pending Approval photos in the Album will be displayed.

 

5. Click to highlight those PA photos that you wish to Approve (that you wish to set to Host Appraisal: Approved.)

 

NOTE: You can multi-select, either by dragging the mouse across the thumbnails or by holding the Control key and clicking on the thumbnails.

You can also use the buttons to Select All or Select None.

 

6.  When you have highlighted the desired thumbnails, click on the Approve Selected Photos button.

 

7.  The PA photos that you have Approved will be set to Host Appraisal: Approved.

 

 

NOTE:  It is suggested that (if you have a lot of PA photos in an Album) you use this Bulk Approval per Album method (described here) to Approve the majority of the PA photos, before you use the slower, Individual Decision method to Reject the rest of the PA photos in your Album.  

 

 

 

BULK APPROVAL PER SUBMITTER: TO APPROVE SEVERAL PHOTOS BY A SUBMITTER, AT ONCE

 

Use this tool to find and APPROVE one or multiple photos from a single Submitter.

(The photos can be scattered around in various Albums in your Hosted Gallery.) 

 

NOTE:  This Bulk Approval tool will only allow you to change photos from PA, Pending Approval to Host Appraisal: Approved.

 

You cannot use this Bulk Approval tool to Reject photos. 

 

 

A Submitter is the User who uploaded the photos to SnapBraggin. 

 

The Submitter can be: 

you (the Host)

 

a Member of your Hosted Gallery                                                                                                   

Member Submitters are listed in the Per Submitter chart as: Is Member? True.

 

a Former Member of your Hosted Gallery.                                                                                              

Former Member Submitters are listed in the Per Submitter chart as: Is Member? False.  

A Former Member is a Submitter who left their photos behind when they Ended their Membership in your Gallery.  (Note, that you can opt out of allowing departing Members to leave their photos behind.  To opt out, access your Manage This Gallery - Gallery Membership Settings page and set the Allow Abandoned Photos option to NO.) 

 

1. Sign In using your Username or Email Address and Password.

2. While Visiting your Hosted Gallery's Home page, select Manage This Gallery (via the Host Tools button or menu link)

3. On the Gallery Management page, click the Housekeeping Menu button.

4.  Click on Manage Photos Per Submitter

5.  Find the Submitter's information in the chart, then click on the applicable Chores button.

6.  Click on the Change Photos to Approved button

 

7. Highlight the photos that you wish to change from PA, Pending Approval to Approved.

 

Click to highlight each photo.

 

Or Multi-select, either by dragging the mouse across the thumbnails or by holding down the Control key and clicking on the thumbnails.

 

Or use the Select All or Select None buttons provided.

 

NOTE:  You can hover your cursor over the thumbnails to read the photos' Titles and source Albums.

 

8. When you have highlighted the desired photos, click on the Change Photos button

 

The selected photos will be changed to Host Appraisal: Approved.

 

9. Click on Back when you are finished.
