This Gallery Management option is useful in those Galleries in which the Host wants to maintain a membership and to hold Contests.

 

If the Gallery's Host wants to display the Top Ten Lists, showcasing the Gallery's top winning members and their photos, the Top Ten Start Date is the setting that will limit how far back in time SnapBraggin should go when calculating points earned.

 

 

You may set the Start Date and you may change the Start Date.

 

The Start Date allows you to "begin" the points calculations from a specified date.  

 

Points earned before the Start Date will not be included in the Points Totals.

 

You may reset the points at any time by changing the Start Date.

 

You can, for example, reset the points totals back to zero at the start of each new year.

 

Or, you could reset the points totals back to zero by changing the start date to the current date,

or to a future date.

 

NOTE: Resetting the points totals to zero (at the start of a new year, for example) would allow different members and different photos the chance to reach high point totals.  

 

 

Top Ten Start Date examples:

 

Specific amount of time:

Should you wish the entries in your Gallery to earn points for one year 

(January 1 to December 31, for example), set the Start Date to YEAR/01/01.  

Points will continue to accumulate throughout the year until you change the date.  

 

When the year ends, change the Start Date to January 1 of the new year (NEW YEAR/01/01).     The points earned during the previous year will be reset back to Zero at the start of the new year.

 

Go back for several years:

Should you decide that you want the points to start two years ago, for example, then set the Start Date to be two years ago. 

 

Indefinitely and continuously:

Should you wish to keep points indefinitely and continuously collecting, then set the Start Date to be on or before the date that you created the Gallery, and do not change the date.   

 

NOTE:  When you Create a New Gallery, the Top Ten Start Date will initially be the date that the Gallery is created.

 

 

New Gallery Setup:

During initial Setup of a new Gallery, STEP #5 allows you to determine Contest Settings, including the Top Ten Start Date option.

 

Established Gallery: 

To Change the Top Ten Start Date for an established Gallery:

 

1.  While visiting your Gallery's Home page, access Manage This Gallery (via the Host Tools button or menu link.) 

 

2. Click on the Gallery Contest Settings button.

 

3. Use the year, month and day selectors to indicate your desired Top Ten Start Date.

 

4. Then Click Save.
