This Gallery Management option is useful in those Galleries in which the Host wants to maintain a Gallery membership.

 

This Gallery management option will help the Host to regulate when new Members may join their Gallery's membership.

 

 

 

 

The Membership Types (that Users will see) are:

 

Closed, by Invitation Only:   Only members you personally invite will have the option to join your Gallery. Your Gallery Banner and Gallery Home page will indicate that your membership is Closed.

Open, but Requires Approval:   In addition to invitations, this selection allows users to request membership but will require APPROVAL from you. When you have pending members, we will display a PM, Pending Members badge for you to see.

Open, Requires No Approval:  In addition to invitations, this selection allows users to request membership and will require NO APPROVAL from you. All users who request to join will immediately become accepted members.   (If you change to this selection while you currently have pending members, you will still need to manually approve those people.)

 

 

 

New Gallery Setup:

During initial Setup of a new Gallery, STEP #4 allows you to determine whether or not to

Promote Membership?  which includes your decision about whether or not new members may join your Gallery''s Membership.

 

Established Gallery: 

To Change the Promote Membership? option in an established Gallery,

 

1.  While visiting your Gallery's Home page, access Manage This Gallery (via the Host Tools button or menu link.) 

 

2. Click on the Gallery Membership Settings button.

 

3. Make your decision about the Promote Membership? option, by choosing the membership type that you prefer: 

 

 

The Promote Membership? options are:

 

No, hide join links. By invitation only. 

Your Gallery Banner and Home will indicate:  Closed, By Invitation Only.

Only members you personally invite will have the option to join your Gallery. 

You may invite new members through your Gallery's Member Management List.

 

Yes, show join links. Require approval. 

Your Gallery Banner and Home will indicate:  Open, but Requires Approval.

A join button will be provided on your Gallery's Home page so that users may request to join your Gallery's membership.  However, you will need to approve or deny their requests.  

While they are waiting for your decision, they will be Pending Members.

You may decide about Pending Members by accessing your Gallery's Manage This Gallery -

Pending Members List.

 

Yes, show join links. Require no approval.

Your Gallery Banner and Home will indicate:  Open, Requires no Approval.

A join button will be provided on your Gallery's Home page so that users may request to join your Gallery's membership.

Because you require no approval, users who request to join will immediately become Accepted Members of your Gallery.

 

4. Then Click Save.

 

NOTE:  No matter which option is selected, you will always be able to invite personally chosen new members by sending invitations. (Access your Manage This Gallery - Gallery Member Management List to send invitations.)
