This Album management option is only available for Contest Albums.

 

 

This option determines how Winners will be elected in your Contest Album.

 

 

This answer describes how to use Manage This Album to change the Judgement Method for one Contest at a time.

 

NOTE:  The Judgement Method can also be changed, for multiple Contests at once, 

by using the Contest Management List.

WARNING:  This option can only be changed while a Contest Album is either

Closed or Open state.  

 

 

The Album management options for How Contest Winners are Elected are:

By Single Judge or By Member Ratings

 

By Single Judge:   Specify one judge (from your membership) to pick the winners.

The assigned Single Judge will judge the Contest (via the For Judges menu link.)

The Host may assign a Gallery Member, or the Host may assign himself or herself to be the Single Judge.

NOTE: The Host always has permission to judge a Contest Album via For Judges (even when a Gallery Member has been assigned as the Single Judge.)

 

By Member Ratings:  Let your Members Rate the photos to vote for their favorites.  

Your Gallery's Members and Host will be able to Rate the photos (via the Album Home page.)

Ratings will become active either:

when the Contest is changed to Judging,

OR when a Standard Contest Album is changed to Open, IF you have opted to Allow Ratings while Open (See the Allow Ratings While Open option.)

 

 

New Contest Album Setup:   

During initial Setup of a new Contest Album, STEP #4 lets you to indicate How Contest Winners are Elected.        

         

Established Contest Album:

To change the How Contest Winners are Elected option of an established Album:

(when the Contest is in Closed or Open state.)

 

1. When on the Album's Home page, select Manage This Album (via the Host Tools button or menu link)

 

2.  Click on the Album Contest Settings button

 

3.  Make your desired changes to the How Contest Winners are Elected option,

 

4.  If By Member Ratings is selected, By Member Ratings will be assigned as the Judgement Method for the Contest.

 

5.  If By Single Judge is selected, By Single Judge will be assigned as the Judgement Method for the Contest.

When By Single Judge is selected, you may type the Username or Email Address of a Gallery Member or yourself into the box.  

 

6.  Then Click Save.

 

 

WARNING: If Ratings have been happening in your Contest during Open, and you change the judgement method of the Contest from Member Ratings to By Single Judge, the Ratings totals will be reset to zero.
