I am a Gallery Host. What is Manual Approval of new submissions? And how do I choose Manual Approval rather than Automatic Approval?

What is Manual Approval?

 

Manual Approval means that the Host is manually screening new uploads.

 

Manual Approval means that all newly-uploaded photos are initially given Host Appraisal: Pending Approval, and will have PA, Pending Approval badges.

 

Manual Approval means that the Host must manually change Photos from

Host Appraisal: Pending Approval to Approved or Rejected.

 

 

Why use Manual Approval?

Gallery Hosts may use Manual Approval to screen newly-uploaded photos for content.

This process of Manual Approval gives a Host the ability to remove inappropriate content before it is seen by Gallery Members, a Contest Judge or the public.

When Manual Approval is selected, newly-uploaded photos are given Host Appraisal: Pending Approval and will be hidden from view while they are waiting for the Host's decision.

When Manual Approval is selected, newly-uploaded photos are given Host Appraisal: Pending Approval and they will not be judged or rated while they are waiting for the Host's decision.

The Gallery's Host must look at and physically (manually) toggle the status of Pending Approval photos to either Approved or Rejected.

 

 

How do I choose to Manually Approve new photos for content?

 

Approval Type is chosen in Gallery management.

 

If you want to use Manual Approval, you will set the Gallery management option for Submission Approval Type to: Manual. 

Manual Approval vs Automatic Approval is initially set during Gallery Setup, but may be changed at a later time via Manage This Gallery - Gallery Membership Settings.

When Manual Approval is selected in Gallery Management, all members of the Gallery will be set to that requirement in the Member Management List.  

(However, you may later change individual "trustworthy members" to Automatic Approval in the Member Management List.)

 

How to change Submission Approval Type in an established Gallery:

 

1.  While visiting your Gallery's Home page, access Manage This Gallery (via Host Tools or a menu link.) 

 

2. Click on the Gallery Membership Settings button.

 

3. Select your preferred Submission Approval Type for the Gallery.

 

Manual or Automatic

 

All members of the Gallery will be set to the selected requirement in the Member Management List.

 

4. Then Click Save.

 

NOTE:  No matter which Approval Type is selected, Hosts ALWAYS retain the right to Reject or Delete unwanted photos in their Galleries.
