YES !   Definitely!  

 

THE HOST CAN JUDGE ANY CONTEST IN THEIR GALLERY

 

The Host always has the ability to judge all Contests in their Hosted Galleries (via the For Judges menu link), EVEN WHEN the Contests are assigned to Members as the Single Judges.

 

That means that, if the Host discovers a need to step in and do the judging (if an assigned judge gets sick, for example), or the Host feels that they should Disqualify or Un-disqualify entries, the Host has the full capability of doing so (via the For Judges menu link) while a Contest is in the Judging state.

 

 

A warning however:

 

As mentioned above, a Host can just swoop in and judge a Contest that is

assigned to someone else.

 

However, if the Host does not want to judge their own entries,

the Host might want to consider the following:

 

 

HIDE JUDGES' PHOTOS DURING HOST JUDGING:

 

If you prefer that your judge not judge their own entries, you will want to

set the Gallery management option for Hide Judges' Photos When Judging to YES.

 

Please be aware that Hide Judges' Photos When Judging will hide the "assigned" judge's entries.

 

If the Host steps in to judge a Contest that is assigned to someone else, the "assigned" Member's entries will be hidden, not the Host's photos.

 

If instead, the Host want the Host's entries to be hidden, the Host will need to

change the Judging assignment so that the Host is the assigned judge.

 

 

Changing the Judging assignment (to assign the Host):

 

1.  IF IN JUDGING STATE, FIRST RESET THE CONTEST.

If the Host wants to change the judging assignment for a Contest that is in the Judging state, the Host will need to Reset the Contest in the Contest Management List.   

 

Reset will remove all judging activity by the previously "assigned" judge.  

 

Reset will transition the Contest to the Closed state.

 

 

2.  IF IN OPEN OF CLOSED STATE:

 

While the Contest is in the Open or Closed state, the Host can change the Judging Assignment for the Contest, and assign themselves as the Single Judge.

 

 

3.  After that, the Host can change the state back to Judging, and can judge the Contest via the For Judges menu link. 

 

 

4.  The Host's photos will then be hidden during judging, because the Host is now the "assigned" judge.

 

 

NOTE:  The previously-assigned judge’s photos may then be judged (they will no longer be hidden.)
