How do I set Ratings back to zero?

There are a couple of ways that Ratings can be deliberately set back to zero:

Reset the Contest, or

change the Judgement method.

RESET A CONTEST to set Ratings back to zero:

The most obvious way that Ratings can be set back to zero, is by simply resetting a Contest Album

in the Contest Management List.

Change the Contest state using Reset in the Contest Management List.

When you Reset a Contest, ratings (if there are any) are set back to zero.

You may RESET a Contest that is in any state: Closed, Open, Judging, Completed or Recorded.

Resetting of any Contest Album clears away current judging or ratings activities.

So, as a result, placements, awards, and Finalist flags are also removed.

WARNING:  In order to save Contest results, awards and points data, ALWAYS RECORD CONTESTS

before RESETTING THEM!

CHANGE THE JUDGEMENT METHOD to set Ratings back to zero:

Another, lesser-utilized method for setting Ratings back to zero, happens when

the Judgement method for a Standard Contest is changed (in one specific scenario.)

NOTE: The Standard Contest must be in either Closed or Open state for this to work.

Let's say, for example, that the judgement method for your Standard Contest is Member Ratings.

AND Ratings have been happening while your Contest is Open (because the Allow Ratings While Open

option is set as YES.)

But, for some reason you want to set the ratings back to zero.

IF you suddenly change the Judgement method from Member Ratings to Single Judge....

well, then, any ratings that have accrued, will be set back to zero.

A Host can do this deliberately, if desired.

AND, then the Host could change the Judgement method BACK to Member Ratings,

and start Rating the entries in the Open Contest all over again.
